What is your passion and why?
I have a big passion for mental health. I myself, battle depression and anxiety on a daily basis and I have a passion for helping others who go through the same struggles. I share my story so that it will inspire others to do the same and let them know they are not alone in this fight.
What pushes you to be the best person you can be?
I strive to be the best person I can be every day. What pushes me to do this is knowing that every day is an opportunity to be better than I was yesterday. It is never a competition against anyone else, it's me vs. me. I owe it to myself and the people in my life to constantly work on being the best version of myself.
Besides running, what other hobbies/activities do you like doing?
When I’m not running you can find me hiking in the mountains or soaking up the sun at the beach. I love being outdoors and around nature. I also enjoy spending time with my 1-year old golden doodle, Indie, he keeps my hands full. He’s my little adventure buddy who comes with me everywhere I go. When I’m not out and about, I love to be at home reading a good book.
What is a quote you like to live by?
The quote I live by “Trust the timing of your life.”
Goals for 2020-2021:
• My current goal is to become a stronger runner. In the past couple of years, I have dealt with a few injuries that have forced me to stop running for months at a time. In order to become a stronger runner, I have to focus on the maintenance work my body needs. This includes: strength and band workouts, stretching, and foam rolling regularly.
• Gain muscle
• Be injury free
• Run Happy
